Itinerary
Day 1 Tangier to Chefchaouen
Visit Cape Spartel and the Hercules Caves near Tangier before continuing inland to Chefchaouen.
Day 2 Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
Travel via Volubilis and Meknes to Fes. Stops include the Roman ruins, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Bab al-Mansour, the Royal Stables and Sahrij Souani.
Day 3 Fes
Walk through Fes medina, with stops at the Royal Palace gate, Mellah, Borj Sud, the ceramic village, Al Attarine Madrasa and Chouara Tanneries.
Day 4 Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga
Cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane, the cedar forest, Midelt and Ziz Valley to Merzouga. The itinerary includes a forest walk and a camel trek at sunset; a 4WD transfer is another option.
Day 5 Merzouga
Visit a traditional kohl mine and meet nomadic families near Merzouga. The day also includes Khamlia village, Gnawa music, a palm grove and the seasonal lake.
Day 6 Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley
Visit Rissani souk and an Erfoud fossilized-marble workshop, then continue through Todra Gorges to Dades Valley. A viewpoint at Monkey Fingers is also on the route.
Day 7 Dades Valley - Roses Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas - Marrakech
Travel through the Valley of Roses, Skoura and Ouarzazate to Aït Benhaddou, then cross the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka to Marrakech.
