10-Day Journey Through Morocco: Experience Real Adventures
If you’re planning a 10-daagse rondreis Marokko, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. In just ten days, you’ll see the vibrant cities, majestic landscapes, and rich culture that my country has to offer. Here’s what your adventure could look like.
- Start in the bustling streets of Marrakech.
- Experience the serene beauty of the Sahara Desert.
- Explore historical Fez and its medina.
- Finish the journey with the coastal charm of Essaouira.
- Make the most of traveling between destinations with scenic stops.
Day 1-3: Marrakech – The Red City
Start in Marrakech. You’ll find lively souks and the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where I always tell families to try the orange juice 🙂 Let yourself wander; that’s the best way to learn about this city. If you’re interested, we also offer guided tours. Learn more about our Marrakech tours.
Day 4-5: Venture into the Atlas Mountains
Drive through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. It’s a winding road with stunning views I’ve never tired of. Stop at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. It’s a bit touristy but worth a look for its iconic architecture. Overnight in a local guesthouse adds a touch of authentic experience.
Day 6-7: Desert Dreams in the Sahara
Head to Merzouga for the Sahara desert experience. Riding a camel through the dunes at sunset is something you won’t forget. I remember one client, a young boy, telling me he felt like a ‘desert prince’. Spend a night under the stars in a Berber camp.
Day 8: Historic Fez
Travel to Fez. It’s about an 8-hour drive, but the landscapes make it worthwhile. Fez’s medina is intense. I suggest hiring a guide, at least for the first day, to navigate the labyrinthine streets and learn about the local crafts and foods.
Day 9-10: Coastal Charm of Essaouira
Finally, move towards the coast, ending your trip in Essaouira. The relaxed vibe is a perfect conclusion to your journey. Walk along the beach, enjoy seafood, and reflect on your adventures. One family told me they never expected to love it here more than the desert!
