Itinerary

Your 4-day Morocco tour will commence in the morning with you being collected from Mohammed V International Airport, your hotel, or any location you are at in Casablanca by one of our exceptional local tour guides (get ready to be amused – these guys are always up for a laugh)! On our first morning, we will drive to the Hassan II Grand Mosque in Casablanca, the largest mosque in Morocco and the 7th largest globally. Next, we go to Rabat to explore the Hassan Tower, the minaret of an unfinished mosque. Here, you will also get to visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After having a midday meal in Rabat, we will head to Fes. Tonight, you can enjoy dinner in the Old City (Medina) of Fes. You will rest in a beautiful Riad in the Medina. Total driving distance: Approximately 331 km. Total driving time: Approximately 4 hr 17 min.
After a delicious breakfast in your Riad, we leave Fes behind, driving toward the Merzouga Dune Sea. Our initial destination will be Ifrane, a beautiful town in the Mid-Atlas Mountain Range. It is often called the Switzerland of Morocco. After a quick pause here, we continue driving across the Mid-Atlas Mountains. We will stop in a cedar woodland for a period to watch some rare Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Lunch will be at an eatery somewhere along the way. Then, we continue traveling to the desert via the Tizi N Telghemt and along the Ziz Valley. We arrive at Merzouga settlement (a small village on the border of the Erg Chebbi Sand Crests) late afternoon. Here, your dromedaries and the guide will be waiting to take you across the Sahara Dune Sea to your desert camp. On the way to your camp, you will stop on a high dune to watch a peaceful twilight over the gigantic Sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then, you continue the ride. You will be welcomed with a cup of tea once you arrive at the camp. Relax in your private tent before the evening meal. After an appealing dinner, you will get a seat around a campfire with Berber locals. Listen to some Berber music, and share the culture while looking up at a starry sky. Total driving distance: Approximately 500 km. Total driving time: Approximately 7 hr 30 min.
Today, an early awakening is highly recommended to watch the golden streaks of sunlight illuminate the scene. Enjoy a tasty breakfast at your camp. You will leave the camp either by dromedaries again or by a 4×4 vehicle. If today is Tuesday or Thursday, or Sunday, we can visit a traditional Moroccan marketplace (souk) in Rissani. Then, drive to Tinghir. We will pause at a panoramic overlook offering views over palm groves and Berber villages. We continue driving along the Todra river until we reach the deep Todra Canyon. Enjoy a walk beneath these 300 meters high cliffs. Following this, we will drive to our final destination today, the Dades Chasms (Gorges). Here, we will visit an area that was submerged under the sea millions of years ago. The location contains large amounts of sediments. You will also get to enjoy a panoramic view of a winding road before heading to your hotel. Total driving distance: Approximately 310 km. Total driving time: Approximately 5 hr.

On the final day of your 4-day desert tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, we will start our journey to Marrakech after a delightful breakfast at your hotel. First, we will drive to Ouarzazate via the city of Kalaat M’Gouna, which is known for its valley that fills with roses during the spring. In Ouarzazate, we will drive to Atlas Studio (the world’s largest film set) that you can visit (this is an optional activity). Second, we drive to the ancient Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a striking example of Morocco’s southern architecture. The fortified settlement was the backdrop for many famous films such as Prince of Persia, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Gladiator. It even served as the city of Yunkai in Game of Thrones. Third, after exploring the Kasbah, we will drive to Marrakech through the landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains and over the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass, which reaches an elevation of 2260 meters (7415 ft) above sea level. We will have some stops along the way before we get to Marrakech. Your 4-day Morocco tour ends by dropping you off at your Riad in Marrakech. Total driving distance: Approximately 353 km. Total driving time: Approximately 6 hr 30 min.
